Dreams of the early morning thundering gobble of an Eastern wild turkey keeps a hunter warm all winter. Missouri is the premiere state
to pursue wild turkeys due to our diverse environment, huge
flocks, and gorgeous terrain.
At Any Season Outdoors, Mother Nature and our specific
management tools produce several flocks of 200-300 hundred
wild turkeys. These include food plots, annual row crops,
timber harvests, early successional habitat establishment,
and dozens of annual controlled burns to maximize the
diversity of the native habitat. In fact our property was
used for MDC sponsored NWTF trapping and relocation projects
in 2002.
Our General Spring Turkey Hunting Season starts in the
middle of April and runs through early May. The Missouri
seasons allow hunters to hunt until 1:00 PM so we take full
advantage of the entire morning and early afternoon. We
leave the house after breakfast at around 4:30 for a short
drive to another part of the farm, or we simply walk out the
back door to go hunting. The early morning gobble from the
roast is tremendous. We have established dozens of roast
sites from years of scouting. For every roast site, there
are several fly-down, loafing, and strutting areas that we
hunt throughout the morning and early afternoon.
Join us for a 3-day hunt and you will experience a turkey
hunt that will keep you coming back year after year. |
